•Long-time BMA member Karen Davis of Ingage, Inc. is climbing Mt. Killimanjaro this summer as part of a fundraiser for The Sega Girl's School in Tanzania through a non-profit organization, Nurturing Minds.  100% of the monies raised will go for the actual building of the school; no monies will be allocated to administration and overhead.  To learn more, or to donate, visit www.passionforacausekili.com.

•Congratulations to Jan Weber, of Citiwide Banks of Colorado, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations.

•BMA Colorado’s annual Gold Key competition was a big success.  Many thanks for the multitude of volunteers and sponsors who made this year’s events possible.  A complete list of winners, along with photos, can be found on the BMA website. You can also view the film-noir movie presented the night of the awards, in conjunction with AOR & LIGHTGROUP.

•Congratulations to BMA Student Member Holly Worley (Regis University), who was awarded a $1500 scholarship from the American Business Women’s Association to finish her undergraduate degree!

MaryBeth Gieser has joined Hamilton Exhibits, based out of Indianapolis, as their Executive Account Director.

•Animals have a special friend in Diane Stewart of Stewartstudio, inc.  Diane was recently named Volunteer of the Month for the MaxFund, a no-kill animal shelter.  Diane was recognized for her work in helping cats get a new home, as well as using her graphic design talents for posters and flyers for MaxFund.  Way to go Diane!

Corona Research (Leo Lewis) was recently named Small Business of the Year by the Denver Chamber of Commerce at its 2009 Business Awards Luncheon.  Corona is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2009.

Amelie Company (Robin Ashmore), announced that their design team was recognized with a Merit Award in the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council Annual Diamond Awards.  The award was given for the company’s work on the 2008 “I Love My Credit Union” Outdoor Campaign for Westerra Credit Union.  Amelie also announced that the agency was chosen by the Colorado Department of Transportation for specialized public relations and consulting, creative development and production services.

•Special congratulations to our BMA Colorado chapter members who recently placed in the national BMA Pro-Comm competition.  Faction Media won an Award of Excellence in Variable Data/Personalized Direct Mail for tw telecom’s Near-Net Direct Mailer, and also a Best of Division in Search/Blog/Online Mindshare Campaigns for Johns Manville’s Leveraging Search Marketing for Channel Empowerment & Lead Generation.  Leopard won Best of Division in Brand Reputation Management for IBM IDR Direct, and also won a Best of Division in Video Production, including Flash Movie/Flash Demo for IBM Mashup Video.
